Mr. Garcia the Executive Director of IMEC has served as the Director for the Office of Migrant Education, within the U.S. Department of Education as a member of Senior Executive Service. Mr. Garcia has also worked as a Consultant in the field of workforce skills development for the future and presented at numerous conferences throughout the country. He began his career in Education as a fifth-grade teacher in Caldwell, Idaho, which lead to numerous leadership positions in the Education field. He has served as a consultant to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, presented to the National Security Council on human rights issues, presented before the White House and Congress on issues related to migrant education, child labor and immigration.

Nancy Wiehe began working for the Interstate Migrant Education Council in January 1992. Her main responsibility as the Sr. Project Associate is to maintain the operations for the IMEC office. Nancy is also responsible for providing logistical support for all IMEC meetings, and works with the ad hoc committees and any special projects as directed. Before coming to IMEC Nancy worked for five years at a national drug and alcohol association and a local chamber of commerce in Southwestern Pennsylvania.
